The chief was known to be responsible for the capture on February 16, 1921 of the Krebs brothers, highwaymen who had terrorized Union County with holdups of automobiles and the trolley cars of the old Morris County Traction Co. One of the brothers, Charles Krebs, was wounded by a shot from an intended holdup victim in Union Township and Mr. Hopkins trailed the bandits to the home of John Krebs in Kenilworth by following blood spots in the snow.
This guy could very well be one of the Krebs.
